Delta Force: Lemur catta

The denizens of the stable isotope lab study many animals... the first member of the delta force subject to knitted rendering is this example of Lemur catta. Congratulations on finishing the comps and qualifiers Brooke!

Dr. Testy PhD

By the way... I forgot to mention, I am now Dr. Testy. Please address me as such. I'm thinking about knitting myself one of those hoods.

(Doctor pictured is not Dr. Testy.)

The Squid Parade Continues...

I have a touch of the OCD. I cannot ever make just one.

Electrician Squid

It really shouldn't be all that surprising, we all knew cephalopods were smart.

Great Pyrenees Batman!

One last picture from the farm. If you know me, you know I have a low threshold for dog interactions. Puppies generally aren't terribly different in my book. That being said, even I couldn't resist the charms of this fluffy lump of love being held here by a fellow Swift Stitcher, Ann. It was adorable and it didn't even smell bad (yet).

Angora

There was also an angora bunny. I could only make out his nose. Back to revisions.

Pack of Alpacas

This here's a picture of me feedin' alpacas y'all!

(I'm attempting to work a few more y'alls in before I move to TX.)

I was lucky enough to take a short break from thesis madness this afternoon and went to see and feed some alpacas. How cool is it that a friend of a friend has a gaggle of alpacas? (OK, I looked it up, it's a herd... but that's kind of boring.)

Writer's Block

I has it. (sorry for the lolcats grammar, but that's how well it's going...) So why not write a blog post to get the juices flowing, hopefully.

I finished the voyager lace stole/scarf for Crowe just in time for her return to Santa Cruz. I can't think of a better pattern name for a project to go to this salty dog/structural geologist/fisherlady. And since she is a knitter too... I'm going to make her block it herself. Is that bad? I just don't have anywhere to lay it out.

Luxor

This is a very soft merino wool sausage stuffed into a silky, shiny casing of microfiber mesh. Too painfully awesome to describe, impossible to photograph its full mystery and wonder. I've always wanted some Luxor, and then this weekend it was in the 4 buck bucket at the Swift Stitch. Mine.

Anger Management Mice

They knit up very quickly. They felt well with hand inflicted violence and smashing and rubbing. Just a few more weeks...
