Sock Blocker Preview
Here they are drying after the 5th coat of polyurethane. Finishing these turned out to be more of a pain than I had anticipated. The woodburning tool took forever to really char the surface, so I had to scale back my more elaborate plans. You can expect better pictures from the fair (or after the fair...).

Produce Pokes
Linda made me a gorgeous set of scarlet and gray produce bags! They are awesome!!!!! What a neat and thoughtful lady. I just filled them all up at the produce stand in Watsonville on my way back from submitting fair entries.

Last Baby Projects
For awhile anyway...
I couldn't remember if it was a boy or a girl, so I covered all the bases. I'll have to put them in the Mother's mailbox tomorrow.

Fibonacci's Rib
I've come up with this sock cuff treatment that turned out pretty well and have decided to name Fibonacci's rib. It's alternating intervals of stockinette stitch and offset 3x3 rib that follow the Fibonacci sequence. I worked these toe up, but just switch the order if you're going cuff down. It's the perfect soft touch of geekiness that the wearer may not even notice.
Round 1: 1 round of 3x3 rib, starting with purl 3
Round 2: 1 round stockinette stitch
Round 3-4: 2 rounds of 3x3 rib, starting with knit 3
Round 5-7: 3 rounds stockinette stitch
Round 8-12: 5 rounds of 3x3 rib, starting with purl 3
Round 13-20: 8 rounds of stockinette stitch
Round 21-33: 13 rounds of 3x3 rib, starting with knit 3

Jenelle, don't look!
This is the Caron Spa baby blanket I promised, ready to hit the mail for baby Emilie. No I could not resist the foram appliqué.

Grrrrrrr!
Testy flying spinning back kick to all of jackassendom!
(just had to vent publicly)
EDIT: I saw a bobcat on campus and was so excited I feel a little better. Surely bobcat spottings are a good sign.

Chiggety check yo'self
Before you wreck yo'self... This baby sweater is about to get friggety-frogged. I love the yarn, Caron Spa (a silky smooth acrylic/bamboo blend). But I hate the pattern. I just couldn't make it work and I'm confident enough now in my knitting to be able to attribute this to a bad pattern rather than user error. Be on the look-out for a Caron Spa baby blanket.
