Yep, here I am, making a Mexican doily while in a Shanghai hotel.... I'm back now, but TIRED!

I just had to frog 2 rounds, it was enormously unpleasant.

Oasis

I finished “Oasis” from the magazine “Puntorama Ganchillo” issue #229. Even though the magazine appears to be distributed primarily in Mexico and Venezuela, this pattern was designed by Fujiko Takagi and has a distinctive flavor characteristic of many other Japanese designs I’ve seen. The finished product measures about 29 inches in diameter and I’m really pleased with how it came out. It will be a housewarming/engagement present for an awesome seismologist/educator/nice person extraordinaire.

Pinas Gigantes

I finally found some doily pattern books at a Mexican grocery in town.

Here's the first product, Cuarteto de pinas gigantes... It's blocking and still wet in the photo. The true color is cranberry red and it measures about 15 inches across.
