Yes, you heard me right, kitty beret. There is an entire line of international cat hats at the blog Spindles and Spices. You see here Le Mieux, the french beret. I am currently catsitting these two lovely fellows Ulrich and Armstrong. I knew going in the odds of actual hat modeling were low.
In the end, this is the closest I ever got. I will take it home to try on my Mom's cat over Christmas.

Cat hats? Really? How extremely bizarre! I can't actually imagine any cat I have ever crossed paths with that would willingly wear one, but if you do manage it, I sense lolcat fodder....
